Be Strong . . .
This Shabbat we conclude the fourth book of the Torah, the book of Bamidbar. As we read the final verse of this book the congregation declares the following phrase in unison: “Chazak, Chazak, V’nit’chazek” – “Be Storng, Be Storng, and may we be Strengthened.
The outpour of support and the sense of unity felt among Jews around the globe in light of the current situation in Israel is indeed incredible. The mantra “Be Strong” resonates from within the heart of every man and woman and we pray for them daily.
Our community, although thousands of miles away, can practically bring strength and fortification to our forces, military, and brethren in Israel.
I strongly encourage each and every one to add in acts of goodness and kindness. By additional charity, extra Torah learning, lighting a Shabbat candle and putting on Tefillin we can do our part to ensure our victory, bringing peace and tranquility to our homeland.
May G‑d continue to bless the IDF
Shabbat Shalom,
Rabbi Raleigh Resnick
