Regards from NY

Shalom from New York.

I arrived here yesterday to participate in the annual International Conference of Chabad rabbis. It’s hard to describe the scene in words, but just imagine the energy of 2,900 Chabad rabbis from every corner of the globe – from Helsinki and Riga, to the Congo and Vietnam, to Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

During the conference there are hundreds of workshops and lectures, focusing on a variety of diverse topics. Everything from balancing finances and dealing with drug addictions, to spiritual concepts of leadership and cutting edge Rabbinic technology

But at the very heart of the conference is the intense infusion of energy, unity, and spirit. Spending this time together as one large family reinvigorates me, and recharges my batteries, and recommits me to our goal and mission – to reach out to every single Jew in the Tri Valley area.

When we look at an army and ask “where does its strength lie?” A superficial answer would be ‘its weaponry and sheer might’. But if we pry a bit deeper we come to understand that it is the resolve and spirit of the soldier that will ultimately define an army’s strengt

And so it is as a rabbi - and as a Jew in general. Having the proper tools and knowledge certainly enables us to produce positive results. But our true potential will be revealed when our passion and inner drive is 100% fully committed to our Jewish heritage and observance.

Shabbat Shalom from NY,

Rabbi Raleigh Resnick
