When Leon Malmeds parent's were arrested by the Nazis in 1942, their French neighbors offered to watch little Leon - thinking it would be but a few days. His parents were taken to the infamous Auschwitz concentration camp and never returned. But their downstairs neighbors continued to safeguard and protect Leon through roundups, threats, air raids, and the war privations.

Mr. Malmed has now bared his soul in his newly published memoir "We Survived ... at Last I Speak" - a narrative of love and courage set against the backdrop of tragedy, fear, and injustice.

A short film will be included in the evening's presentation.

Books will be available for purchase and author signing.
